New
Year, New Start
Even
though we’re coming to the end of January, I thought I’d start my new blog with
a post about my new years resolutions.
It seems to be a clockwork tradition that when January comes around we all become these health and fitness crazed monsters (for the first two weeks!) However this year I seem to be seeing the New Year in a different light. Yes I still think being health conscious is a good thing, but I think I need to be focusing on myself as a whole. This year I’ve decided that being happy and proactive is my main goal. I’m going into my second semester of my second year in university and life is coming around way to fast. Therefore I feel I need to start living more and experiencing new things. There’s no point becoming health crazy if I’m not happy!

One
of the new things I want to start is my blog. I’ve always wanted to start one
however; it’s always been one of those things that I’d ‘do it later’ and never
gets done. As I’m doing fashion styling with hair and makeup course, I thought
that this would give me that prefect platform to focus my blog on and it’s also
something I’m really passionate about which makes it less of a chore.
2016
GOALS
BEING PROACTIVE AND FOCUSED
I
can definitely say I can be quite lazy at times and getting up and doing things
is one of my downfalls. It’s a typical Welsh thing to do that I’m completely
guilty of is saying “I’ll do it now in a minute” and nine times out of ten I’ll
still be in the same position! This year I’m going to change that, I’m going to
give myself things to do. May it be writing a blog post or getting uni work
done early, I’ve definitely got to get myself organised and in a good mindset.
BE HAPPY AND WORRY LESS!
All
my life I’ve been such the worrier, I’m terrible for getting stressed out at
the smallest of things that causes me to then overthink. It’s definitely a
habit I need to stop, so this year I’ll be challenging myself to combat this.
LIVE IN THE MOMENT MORE
As
soon as I wake up in the morning I’m on my phone and from that moment on I’ll
probably check it five to six times each hour. My grandmother makes the joke
that my phone is an extension of my hand! I definitely need to reduce the time
I spend on social media, as it’s not overly healthy. This year I need to stop and smell the
roses not take a picture of them.
TRAVEL MORE
As a
child I’d only gone as far as Spain on holidays abroad, I’ve never ventured
far. However, at the beginning of January I went to New York with my university
and can definitely say I’ve caught the traveling bug. Hopefully this year will
bring more opportunities to see more parts of the world!
