MY SKINCARE ROUTINE
Looking after my skin and having a skincare routine has always been very important to me.
My grandmother first introduced me to the importance of looking after my skin when I was thirteen. Throughout my teens I was fortunate not to have troubled skin apart from a few spots and blemishes here and there. I think I was lucky because I was taught to use cleansers instead of just makeup removing wipes quite early on.
When I was thirteen my grandmother bought me my first ever Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish as I was having trouble at school which was making my skin break out. Since then my skin has loved using Liz Earle products, there must be an ingredient that skin can't get enough of. I've even noticed that when I've run out and in between buying new bottles, my skin reacts to other brands.
Since getting older my skincare routine and the amount of products I use has definitely changed. Whereas in my early teens I was using one or two products, now I'm using a lot more.
So here is a run down to my current skincare routine. *It does slightly changed in the winter months*
CLEANSING
To kick off my skincare routine, I always remove my makeup with a makeup remover/cleansing water. At the moment I've been loving the Garnier Micellar Water to remove the first layer of my makeup before going in with a double cleanse. My cleanser of choice has been the same for a long time and that's the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish.
HYDRATING
After a double cleanse, I like to follow with the Liz Earle Skin Tonic to give my skin an instant boost. With the added aloe vera and cucumber it soothes and hydrates my skin. I also like to use a brightening serum during the summer months to make my skin glow. I've currently been using the Soap and Glory Bright + Beautiful Radiance Serum.
FINAL STEPS
After cleansing and toning I like to finish off with three products. As I'm getting older I've noticed my under eyes looking quite tired and puffy. So recently I've been loving two products to hep tackle these problems. First I like to use the Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Lotion, this has helped reduce the look of tiredness under my eyes. I then go in with the Embryolisse Laboratories Eclat du Regard (Radiant Eyes) cooling stick. Even though I've only been using it for the last month, I've noticed results straight away. This clever little stick has worked wonders to minimise puffiness and dark circles. It's also a good skincare product to keep in your handbag for on-the-go enchantments.
To finish my skincare routine I like to use a SPF. Protecting your skin is very important from UV rays even when your not on holiday. Recently I've been using the Origins Dr Andrew Weils Mega-Defence SPF 45. This is super lightweight and non-greasy, and even leaves your skin moisturised. What I like most about this product is that it also protects and helps prevent damage from pollution.
So that's my skincare routine in a nut shell.
Now I'm ready to start my day!
