KYLIE LIPKIT IN GINGER: REVIEW
There's been a huge amount of debate over the Kylie Jenner lip kits and the overall opinion on them. Some love them, others hate them.
I guess with cosmetics it's hard to take someone else's opinion on them because we're all so different. I mean not everyones skin tone, colouring, pigmentation, type etc is the same, so products will also be different depending on the individual. So with that in mind, I thought I'd give the lip kits a go.
I've had Candy K and Dolce K around five months now and I have a love hate relationship with them. Love the actual liquid lipstick the colouring and formula are really nice. I find they apply better some days than others, and last longer too. Most recently I've been loving them, especially the lip liners. If you've read my pervious blog post then you'll know that Ive been wearing them non stop this summer.
When I saw on Instagram that Kylie was bringing out new summer shades I couldn't wait to see what they looked liked. I was dying for her to bring out a rosy toned brown, and when I saw her selfie wearing Ginger I was like YAASSS!
If you've tried to buy a lip kit before then you know it's like a military operation as they sell out within minutes, so managing to get one in your basket is very lucky. So getting one of the new summer mattes was probably the highlight of my week then.
Ginger is a lovely red/orange toned brown, very different to the shades Kylie has already and what's on the market right now. The orange undertones is definitely the thing that drew me into buying the lip kit in the first place. The colour is beautiful and so different. I'm not a huge fan of wearing red lipsticks, I mostly wear pink and brown nudes so this colour is a bit different for me. I guess because it has that brown tone to it I find it really wearable. It is actually a little darker than I thought it was going to be, which I'm kinda glad about. So depending on your style you could easily wear this day or night.
Again the applicator is the same as Candy K and Dolce K so with a bit of precision it goes on really smoothly. The lip liner is nigh on the same colour as the liquid lipstick which is perfect for a dark coloured matte. This means your not going to get any gradient effect once it dries. I'm a huge fan of Kylie's lip liners and ginger is no exception. It glides on super easily and are so creamy. Definitely some of my favourite lip liners to use.

In the swatch here you can definitely see the red and orange undertones of the liquid lipstick. Redbrick is probably the best description of the overall colour.
Overall once it dries Ginger is my favourite lip kit so far. I find with Candy K and Dolce K they dry darker than the colour in the bottle, which is a little misleading. Ginger however, remains the same shade once dried. Again the lasting effect depends on how many coats you apply. The stay power also depends on how much you're eating and drinking too. Otherwise it lasts for a good few hours.
Ginger has to be my favourite lip kit at the moment, the colour is perfect for the upcoming season with the autumnal colours coming in. I can't wait to see what Kylie has in store with new matte shades.
